This week’s feature is:

1-Describe your site.

Tilteed is an ongoing, t-shirt design contest. We have an open format, but in the future we’ll probably add some themed contests. We just launched a little over a week ago and are offering $5000 in prizes for our launch. It’s been an exciting first week, we’ve registered over 400 members, had over 25,000 page views and already have received some incredible designs.

2-Where is your site located?

Physically we’re here in Portland, Oregon. On teh internets we can be found at http://www.tilteed.com.

3-Does your location have any influence on your site and designs?

That’s a tough question because we’re still in the initial submission phase. So it’s hard to say right off the bat if we’ll fall into a ‘look.’

I don’t know if Portland itself has much influence on our site or designs, mainly because we’ve been attracting designers from all over. Plus, if we let Portland influence our designs, you’d be seeing a bunch of coffee and rain, with some dirty hipsters thrown in the mix.

4-What’s unique about your site.

I’d say 2 things.

1. We’re new and we’re offering some significant prize money. If you look beyond the initial launch prize of $5000 – we’re still going to be paying out $500 every three days. And not only that, but we also pay $1 per shirt sold to the artists. In our first month we’re going to be printing 12 designs with a total prize payout of $10,000.

2. It’s all in-house. From managing the web site to the actual printing. We’re really proud of the fact that we do our own printing. We recently upgraded our press and are having a blast printing t-shirts on it. Just the other day we got a compliment from t-shirt artist Wotto who picked up one of our pre-launch tees. He said he was impressed with the print. That made us blush a bit.

5-Who is the target customer for your site?

Whoever is reading this. Edit that – whoever is reading this and can afford $12 bucks.

6-How often will we see new designs?

Every 72 hours. We want to keep the site fresh and keep designs coming out quickly. I’m a big fan of the daily t-shirt sites. I think they’re a lot of fun and it’s always one of the first things I do in the morning – check which new designs have been released on those sites. I would love to release even faster, but for now we’ve only budgeted for $500 every 3 days.

7-Do you offer international shipping?

Yes. We actually have a deal. Shipping is $2 for domestic or international.

8-Freestyle round. Say what you want.

Designers aren’t the only ones getting something out of the site. Right now we’re also running a member drawing. Basically every vote cast is going to be thrown into a drawing. Prizes include free t-shirts for a year as well as the winner’s choice of either an XBox, PS3, or Nintendo Wii. Not bad for simply taking a few minutes, looking at some awesome artwork, and clicking a rating button. So you don’t even have to be an artist to win on our site.

This one ends the same day as our launch contest, so help us out and rate some designs.

Bombs Away

$18 + shipping – Pre-launch special $12 + shipping

x) Bonus Question: Rock, Paper, or Scissors?

I generally don’t make that decision until the count is 2 and I’ve had a good look in my opponent’s eyes.

###

Final thoughts from PopCultureTees:

It’s always a great opportunity to welcome a new site to the t-shirt world. Do a browse of tilteed.com and you will definitely see some great shirts that are on the print horizon. Go ahead and grab a launch shirt and give them a proper welcome.

On behalf of PopCultureTees.com, I’d like to wish tilteed.com lots of success!
