You’ve been working on a design in your spare time for 5 days straight… and almost everything is perfect. Everything except the colors. You have 4 different variations laid out in illustrator and keep flipping back between them. You’ve already switched the shirt colors half a dozen times, changed your bright red to something a little darker, and completely nixed the navy blue…

Discovered this tee via T-Critic and just HAD to run a post on it. The design, from the same folks who are behind the exploded phone tee is an outstanding blend of old world and new with really subtle details.

The artist behind this and others in the series is Kevin Tong and we’re loving ALL his stuff.

We’ve been watching ink-hound since they came out, and have generally found the quality of their designs to be a little bit uneven. Maybe it’s just a matter of personal taste, but there have been some weeks where I’m just wondering wth?
So I was really pleasantly surprised by this week’s tee, which I just love. A little different than your normal fare, the artist did a perfect job using just blacks and grays to create a moody and surreal atmosphere.

“In these rather trying times we simply can’t allow the backbone of Britain, its pubs, to wither away and die. It’s time to get a grip, gird our loins, dig for victory and stiffen those upper lips (around a pint of fine British ale, of course).
So, show your support for mine host on the frontline and don one of these rather dashing undershirts.”

Ah yes, we love this clever play on the now ubiquitous line of Keep Calm and Carry On posters, tees, and accessories.

“…I’d like to work for a few years in a design firm I think but my goal is to open a t-shirt store/boutique in the real live world and online. Not just an average store but something more of an experience like Johnny Cupcakes maybe, I won’t people to come to the shop for the magic of it all rather than just a tee, it’s a funky adventure!”

We don’t usually cover Threadless shirts, because let’s be honest, they don’t need the coverage. But this one is one of the best ones we’ve seen lately, so it had to wind up on the site:
