So you wanna design T-Shirts? Well… you’re not the only one.

Sites like Threadless and Woot! are as much community sites as they are retail; grown up around people creating and submitting original designs. The coolest designs are rocketed to the top by user votes and then wind up printed and offered for sale.

For the winners, it’s instant world-wide fame and notoriety! Well, maybe not, but there’s a least a pretty nice check and a certain smug-factor.

So if you’re ready to sink your design chops into participating in one of these sites (or just want to design some shirts for your own website) but don’t know the ins and outs of t-shirt design, this series is for you. Take a look at what’s coming up:

Part 1: There are THAT many ways to print a shirt?
(Find out about all the different imprint methods and which ones are the best)

Part 2: Photoshop? Illustrator? Vector? Bitmap?
(How to make your design easy to print; or, how to make the printers not hate you.)

Part 3: Cost considerations and special effects.
(What, you need me to explain this one?)

Part 4: Stock Art Resources.

Part one will be posted soon, so check back or subscribe to the RSS feed to get notified when it’s up!
